Check in time is from 2pm on day of arrival and check out time is 10am on day of departure, guests are welcome to drop off luggage prior to check in time if required. Guests can make use of all communal hostel facilities (kitchen, sitting room etc.) until 10am on the day of departure, the facilities may be used after check out for a charge of £5 per person with prior agreement. If you are found to be using hostel facilities after check out time and without permission you will be charged £20 per person.

A valid credit/debit card is required to secure bookings,  cards will not be charged at the time of booking but full payment must be made on arrival. If you wish to cancel a booking you will be charged for the total cost of the first nights stay. If you cancel within 24 hours of the first day of your stay or fail to turn up we charge the total cost of your whole stay. If you book through a 3rd party website (booking.com etc.) we follow the cancelation policy and terms and conditions on their booking.

For group bookings (8 people or more) a 10% deposit is required to secure a booking and full payment must be paid at least 28 days prior to arrival, both deposit and payment are non-refundable.

Orcades Hostel is a strictly non-smoking establishment in line with legislation and for the comfort of our guests. We reserve the right to ask you to leave without refund if you are found smoking within the hostel.  We do not tolerate the use or possession of Illegal substances of any kind in the hostel.

If a guest or group causes any damage to the hostel or any items belonging to the hostel then the guest or group will be charged accordingly and we reserve the right to ask the responsible person(s) to leave without refund.
